This was something the was passed on to me of of a sissy dating site - basically a Claire looking for Virginia. It is a nice film that I think celebrates well some of the trepidation and joy of fully accepting and embracing femininity. The film is "The New Girlfriend."
David is a new widowed husband. While he was open with his with about his dressing and she was aware of it, it was something he needed less when with her. After her passing, the loss of her feminine presence awakens his desire. He is discovered by his wife's best friend Claire.
Claire is initially negative. Almost out of sheer will, David is able to express his feminine side and it touches and connects with Claire, who is actually the one who names Virginia.
Some of it is cliche and predictable, but it still is a nice tale about not only acceptance and embracing of femininity.
There are some delightful uncomfortable moments when David has spent so much time as Virginia, even with people who do not know his secret, his mannerisms and image reflect his femininity despite the more accepted masculine dress.
I truly enjoyed the embracing of the femininity both of not only Virginia, but as Claire who becomes a confident, mentor and watching the bonding of the two.
What is not to love about shopping, make-up and girl-time.
The 3rd act is predictable but enjoyable none-the-less, and overall, to me at least, a positive movie in which i can see elements of not only myself, but what i desire. If you have not seen it, it may be a nice interlude. It is a French film with English subtitles but still a delight to watch.
If you have seen it, i am interested in your feedback, positive or otherwise. Similarly, please share other movies you enjoy that inspire your expression of femininity. It is nice to see more and more of these films that explore the dynamics of femininity and feminization in a positive and supportive light
